Registered Migration Agents
How to find and verify a migration agent
A Registered Migration Agent can provide immigration assistance. Always verify an agent on the official OMARA Register before paying for or relying on their services.
Search the register
Check registration
Read the agreement
Keep records
Use the official OMARA Register
The register shows an agent's name, MARN, business and registration status. A business website or social profile is not a substitute for this check.
Who can provide immigration assistance?
OMARA states that only a Registered Migration Agent, an Australian legal practitioner or an exempt person can lawfully provide immigration assistance in Australia. Exempt persons must not charge a fee for that help.
Education agents, recruiters, employers, friends and community members are not automatically authorised to provide immigration assistance. A person claiming to be registered should be checked against the live register.
You do not have to use a migration agent to lodge a visa application. Using one does not guarantee a visa grant or faster processing.
