Official processing data
Australian visa processing times
Processing times are not fixed. Use the Department of Home Affairs tool for current figures and treat them as a guide, not a deadline or prediction for one application.
Check the live government guide
Select the visa category and subclass in the Department's tool. If a stream is available, choose the stream that matches the application.

What applicants can do
Australian visa processing times by popular subclass
Open a visa guide for subclass-specific context, then use the linked Department of Home Affairs tool for the current processing times.
Important limits of processing-time data
Two applications for the same visa can take different amounts of time. The date of lodgement alone does not determine when a decision will be made, and the Department may process cases according to legislative or ministerial priorities.
A status shown in ImmiAccount does not provide a reliable completion date. The Department advises applicants not to make travel or other commitments based on an expected grant unless they already hold the permission needed.
If a published timeframe has passed, follow the contact guidance shown for that visa and check ImmiAccount first. Submitting duplicate enquiries or duplicate documents does not necessarily speed up assessment.
