Bridging visas are temporary visas used in specific administrative circumstances, often while a substantive visa matter is being resolved or to make arrangements to leave Australia. Bridging visas A, B, C and E have different purposes and conditions.
A bridging visa does not automatically provide travel permission or work rights. Leaving Australia can have serious consequences depending on the bridging visa, and only a Bridging visa B provides a travel facility when granted for that purpose.
